I believe that birth is a normal process and an important journey in a mother and father’s life. As a doula, I provide reassurance and perspective, give encouragement, make suggestions for labor progress and help with relaxation using proven comfort measures. I will stay with you and your partner throughout the labor and up to two hours after or until you are comfortable and ready for quiet time as a new family. This is your birth experience and I honor that and your wishes.
A father's (or partner) presence and loving support in childbirth is both comforting and reassuring. It is not my intention to take the place of or eliminate the need for this most important support.
My whole life has been about caring for mothers and babies in one way or another. I believe I was born to be a doula. It gives me joy to offer mothers a calm and gentle way to navigate the journey of birth. I have found in my practice that by holding a warm, supportive and empowering space without judgement, birthing mothers are able to use their own inner strength and intuition that will guide them through their birth experience and throughout motherhood. A client will never offend me during labor, she is free to voice her needs and wishes. I am happy to provide whatever is needed in that moment.
